I argue that the notion of so-called Scandinavian Art in nineteenth-century French literature, commonly referred to as l\u2019art scandinave, l\u2019\u00e9cole scandinave, or les \u00e9coles scandinaves , and encompassing artists coming from the countries that in the present day are known as Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland, during across the second half of the nineteenth century, and solidified in usage and meaning at the end of the 1880s. The followering study presents a chronological account of how French writings on Nordic painting changed during this period, beginning with an introductory survey of eighteenth and early nineteenth-century writings on Nordic art and literature, and ending with the Unviersal Exposition of 1889."},{"label":"dcterms.available","value":"2018-07-09T14:15:59Z"},{"label":"dcterms.contributor","value":"Berman, Patricia."},{"label":"dcterms.creator","value":"Parkinson, Nicholas Kenton"},{"label":"dcterms.dateAccepted","value":"2018-07-09T14:15:59Z"},{"label":"dcterms.dateSubmitted","value":"2018-07-09T14:15:59Z"},{"label":"dcterms.description","value":"Department of Art History and Criticism."},{"label":"dcterms.extent","value":"431 pg."},{"label":"dcterms.format","value":"Monograph"},{"label":"dcterms.identifier","value":"http://hdl.handle.net/11401/78359"},{"label":"dcterms.issued","value":"2017-08-01"},{"label":"dcterms.language","value":"en_US"},{"label":"dcterms.provenance","value":"Made available in DSpace on 2018-07-09T14:15:59Z (GMT).
