I chose this because it joins my love of teaching with my master's in Hispanic languages and literature. I have analyzed and gathered research on 3 films centered around the topic of the border. These three films are Jard\u00edn del Ed\u00e9n, Espaldas mojadas, and El norte. There are several reasons that I chose 3 films on the topic of the United States-Mexico border. One reason is that the border is a representation of the relationship between the United States and its southern Spanish speaking neighbors, Mexico. Another reason is because it has been the theme of many different forms of literature, art, and film. This proves that it is an important topic. The reason why I chose 3 films that were all centered around the same topic is because the discussions of each individual film are enriched because of each other.
