The regulatory mechanism of HSCs self-renewal, however, remains an unsolved problem. Recent studies found that the stem cell gene SALL4 has the ability to stimulate HSCs expansion and maintain their pluripotent tendencies. In this article we summarize the current research on SALL4 and its isoforms, and how they affect HSCs self-renewal capacity. To further understand the regulatory mechanism underlying this activity, researchers explored the connection between SALL4 and other regulatory molecules. They concluded that SALL4 may regulate HSCs self-renewal through recruiting epigenetic modifying enzymes and forming a transcriptional feedback loop with the stem cell factor OCT4."},{"label":"dcterms.available","value":"2017-09-20T16:51:28Z"},{"label":"dcterms.contributor","value":"Aguila, Jerell R"},{"label":"dcterms.creator","value":"Yang, Jing"},{"label":"dcterms.dateAccepted","value":"2017-09-20T16:51:28Z"},{"label":"dcterms.dateSubmitted","value":"2017-09-20T16:51:28Z"},{"label":"dcterms.description","value":"Department of Biochemistry and Cell Biology."},{"label":"dcterms.extent","value":"44 pg."},{"label":"dcterms.format","value":"Application/PDF"},{"label":"dcterms.identifier","value":"http://hdl.handle.net/11401/76936"},{"label":"dcterms.issued","value":"2013-12-01"},{"label":"dcterms.language","value":"en_US"},{"label":"dcterms.provenance","value":"Made available in DSpace on 2017-09-20T16:51:28Z (GMT).
